Once Upon A Blog Is Going Through Some Changes

I thought it was about time I updated the look of the blog so I will be experimenting over the next little while until I settle on something I'm happy with.

Please be patient! I'm not likely to get it right the first time. Or the second time. Or... ya know!

Think of it as Once Upon A Blog going through some transformations. ;)

In the meantime, this is what we've looked like for almost a couple of years...
And I honestly have no idea where I'm going with things this time yet!

PS Expect frogs - at least at first. ;)

  1. I love that you are active on the blog again!! Loving the changes as well, I think a little bit of change is always good :)

  2. LOVELOVELOVE YOUR BLOG!!!! Please keep writing, I look forward to new posts :)))

  3. You've presumably received the hints from Blogger about the various new dynamic formats.

We can all try that by sticking '/view/magazine' at the end of your URL, thus:

I was toying with changing to magazine format myself. It's very clean. I haven't come across many blogs that have changed over. The problem is that you seem to have to get rid of most of the bits and pieces down the right hand side. Although things like 'About' still appear as links along the top bar.

I'm waiting to see whether Blogger will come up with some formats that don't require a complete clean out.

  4. I can't say I like the magazine format at all. It's too neat and tidy. Plus the wonderful tags list on the right side is gone.

  5. Change is good. Looking forward to what you come up with.

  6. Thanks for all the nice and encouraging comments!

@Tiff & @Fairytalelover Thank you - I'm experimenting to see how feasible it is to post regularly since I can't always access a computer these days (my laptop is still quite dead - though it does a weird zombie-rising impression now and then!) I've definitely missed blogging, despite a very difficult year personally. it's good to be back in touch with people who love fairy tales like I do. :) Thanks for your comments - every one helps me find more motivation to keep at blogging.

@Robert Moore I considered the magazine format as I like the cleanness but sadly you can't customize/brand it in any way and losing the links on the right, which seem key for fairy tale blog readers doing the daily news rounds, (like @rosesarered) is a problem.

I'm working off a photo of my own for now (yes - the frog & books up the top is a from my place) but I'm not settled on this being the right feel yet. I may run with it for a few months until I get time to try some proper illustration/ Photoshop work to come up with something that suits the blog a bit better. We'll see - this all takes a lot of time! (Time I should probably spend blogging... heh.)

  7. No problem! You've done a great job with this blog!!
