Please note: ALL POSTERS ARE FAN MADE!
It was inevitable, really, and will make so very many OUAT fans ecstatic. What I'm wondering is whether they're going to try and squeeze the princess sisters in before the end of the season or not. It's already very much Oz and Zelena focused and is benefiting overall as a result, plus we have other B and C (and D) plots doing a decent job of fleshing it out. To add a major set of characters, who fans will clamor to see more than one appearance of, would feel rushed and ridiculously busy. My guess is we might get a teaser at the end of this season of Frozen/Snow Queen things to come, with the next season being largely focused on some sort of plot twist revolving around the sisters.
Because all the characters on OUAT have a darker or more tragic side to them, I'm curious to see if they get into Elsa's conflict more and make her more... "Snow Queen-y".
Here's the report:
The hint came from "Once Upon a Time" producers Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz who told E! News that talks were underway to bring the "Frozen" characters to the show. Kristen Bell, who voiced Princess Anna in the movie, was invited to guest star. And what about Merida? There hasn't been any further talk of her since the initial chat at D23 which went something like this (from E1!):
Kitsis said the series' crew were obsessed with "Frozen", which has smashed box office records and topped billboard charts with its soundtracks. He said they "would be completely honored if Kristen Bell or Idina Menzel wanted to do our show."
E! News reached out to Bell to hear her response. "That would be unbelievable," she said. "I love that character of Anna so much. She is so exactly who I wanted to see when I was five years old, so she's really close to my heart." (Aceshowbiz)
Creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis recently told D23 that they would "love" to feature some of the most recent Disney princesses on the series...
"Obviously we'd be dying to do Frozen," Kitsis gushed. "We would love to [incorporate] Merida." In a world that is filled with some of the most iconic fairy-tale characters of all time, we think that there's plenty of room in Stroybrooke for some fresh faces." Horowitz agreed, saying, "Whether we get to them or not, characters like Anna, Elsa and Merida feel like they could be slotted in."
Want to discuss? We have a forum now! Check the tabs at the top of the page for the OUAT Forum. Anyone can comment or start a topic! (I believe you can comment as a guest without registering we well, though I'm not completely certain of that.)
(Look for a brief post after this of a fairy tale parallel I think would work well with Merida in the OUAT universe...)
Do you think they'll be featuring Olaf as well?
ReplyDeleteI think there's a good chance of that but likely in human form. The way I've seen the trend in writing the stories I think there's a vague chance they'll also play around with him getting turned into a snowman (or turned BACK from a snowman) though. Depends on which way they twist the story. It would be difficult to retain his appeal though. Olaf seemed so obnoxious in the trailers and teasers but in the movie he walked that line of innocent sweetness so very well that he was one of the most appealing aspects. It's difficult for people to act so sweetly without coming across as stupid or reign in the sarcasm enough during clever lines that they're still appealing. There have been some comic characters who walked this line really well though: Both Joey and Phoebe in Friends, Shirley in Community, and there are more in less primetime slots but I can't pin them down right this second. Trouble is, you need a combo of really good writing and very subtle/smart comedic acting to pull that off and still be likable. I just hope if they go this route, they'll be very smart about it, because it could seriously backfire.
DeleteGood point.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've thought of a possible scenario for Once Upon a Time where Olaf was Anna and Elsa's little brother. Possibly, he and Anna would sneek out of their rooms to play with Elsa and Elsa accidentally strikes Olaf in the heart with her powers and turns him into a snowman. This would result in Anna and Elsa's separation and Anna's memory being modified by the troll in order to protect Anna. Therefore Olaf would be sent away so that he wouldn't be around to remind Anna of Elisa's magic.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think?
That sounds amazing!!!
DeleteSorry; I accidentally typed in "Elisa" instead of Elsa at the end there.
ReplyDeleteI also think its possible that Rumplestilskin AKA Mr. Gold has Olaf stored in a freezer in his shop and that Anna and Elsa are in Storybrooke searching for him so that they can find a way to make him human again.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you think! Definite potential on that riff. *thumbs up*
ReplyDeleteDo you also think that OUAT will also be featuring Kristoff and Hans?
ReplyDeleteI think they'd like to but nothing is settled yet by the sounds of things. They sound like they're still developing. My concern, especially since they're admitting that, is that it;s going to be rushed and not well thought through. But then, sometimes the best things are developed straight from initial inspiration rather than when they're noodled with for too long (+ that "many cooks" syndrome that TV writing tends to have - sometimes that's great, sometimes notsomuch!)
DeleteHeres my idea. Im still on the first 5 episodes of once upon a time so... Snow white runs through the winter forest to avoid being caught by the queens "guardians". She stumbles upon a woman Shooting snow out of her hands and hides behind a tree, Snow watches the woman step on snow and make her ice castle.. she then runs inside and asks the woman for help and also asks about her powers. They get to knw eachother and later Anna comes in and interrupts saying "Elsa! i found you.. please bring summer back?" "I cant" Elsa says. Things happen then they 3 go back to the village to see everything frozen.. People raid the three and they run back to the ice castle.. they stumble upon Olaf and things happen.. and then they 4 must go stop the evil queen from killing elsa.
ReplyDeleteWho is the actress in this anna poster?
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have been trying to figure that out and although I've found some similar I can't be sure. I can't even trace the original source, though it seems to come from someone in FanPop. Anyone with any info is welcome to post! I think we're all curious..
DeleteI am pretty sure it's Galadriel Stineman
Deletethat is NOT an official poster/ad/promotion for Elsa and Anna....right? I've seen it floating about the internet and I think some people think (or at least are wondering) if its at all legit. I'm guessing no...?
ReplyDeleteAs noted at the very head of the post, ALL posters here are fan made. :)
DeleteWho is the actress that is in the fan made poster for Elsa she would be great
ReplyDeleteI replied above but in case you're only following this thread: I don't know. I've done my best to investigate but apparently people have not been great at crediting either the artist who did the poster initially or the elements (including the actress picture) either. Anyone with info is welcome to clear this up. I think we'd all like to know!
DeleteThe actress portraying Elsa in the picture is Amanda Schull.
DeleteI apologize - I was on auto pilot since so many have asked about Anna. Yes Amanda Schull is the mode for Elsa here. Still no idea on who they used for Anna though (whomever they are - I wish I could give credit!).
DeleteAnna is ROSE LESLIE im sure of it
Deletefan made posters are just about spot on. Elsa is great....anna looks a little too young....
ReplyDeleteI think Jack Frost will also be featured in this season. Since its a winter themed season, they are going to include characters of winter-type stories like Jack Frost. I can only think of a few characters that they could add in this season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe make him Elsa's dad.
DeleteI'd love to see a crossover with OUAT in Wonderland.
ReplyDeletePretty sure they'll be bringing in the Knave as a semi-regular at some point but a complete crossover seems unlikely right now. They've done the OUAT version of Wonderland (before OUATinWonderland was created). Still, you never know. If there's enough interest when it's clear OUATinWonderland isn't returning, they'll likely consider it. They do like to bring people back when they can.
DeleteAccording to Wikipedia, the knave will be a series regular in season 4, which makes me happy. I loved him on Being Human, and in Wonderland. I wonder if Anastasia will make an appearance too?
DeleteI really hope they add in Jack Frost, for the end of Elsa's arc it would be amazing, and it's clearly what the fans want.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Weird thing is, they don't seem to be following a lot of what the fans are saying (if you read the interviews it's pretty clear they're not aware of a whole lot with regard to the fandom trends), so who knows. The problem I see is that Dreamworks might have a patent on the Jack Frost character since Rise of the Guardians.
DeleteWant ths girl to play anna!
ReplyDeleteAny idea who she is? I just can't seem to figure it out.
DeleteKristoff should be played by Owen Wilson!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWayyy too old
DeleteAlthough I see where you're coming from
I think Rumplestiltskin will portray the troll that wiped away Anna's memory. Possibly also having something to do with Olaf.
ReplyDeleteOwen Wilson?
ReplyDeleteThat would certainly ruin it,..
The one thing I wonder about all of this is that vase (or whatever it was) that came back through the time portal was stored in Rumpelstiltskin's vault. He said that is where he stores the magic that is too dark and unpredictable....so what does that say about this version of Elsa?
ReplyDeletedo you want to build an evil? :D
ReplyDeletecan someone please tell me who is the actress pictured in this Elsa pic?? Ive been racking my braon trying to figure it out....
ReplyDeleteKitsis said the series' crew were obsessed with "Frozen", which has ... elsawomen.blogspot.com
